Technical SEO is essential as the foundation of your website. It is often difficult to determine where to start improving, so we have listed these for you.

Meta titles and descriptions
Meta titles and descriptions are pieces of information for a page, specifically for Google and other search engines. It is the information that search engines display in the search results.
We optimize titles and descriptions based on the following requirements:
- Meta titles must be between 39 and 60 characters long
- Meta descriptions must be between 105 and 160 characters long
Furthermore, we write titles and descriptions that convert as strongly as possible, driving the most visitors to click through to your website.
Tip: a useful tool for testing your meta titles and descriptions is the Google SERP Snippet Optimization Tool.
Website indexing by Google
Correct indexing of pages and the website ensures that Google picks them up. This way, written content ends up in the search results. Additionally, we take the indexing of photos, videos, and other forms of content into account. We submit pages manually or use a sitemap to ensure Google fully indexes the website.
Loading speed of pages
Research shows that a shorter loading time leads to more conversions. If a page loads in 1 second instead of 5 seconds, it generates 2.5x more revenue. Therefore, we shorten the loading time with:
- Optimized web development and a fast-loading web design
- SEO optimization to further shorten the loading time
Tip: want to measure the loading time of a page yourself? You can do so with GTMetrix , the Pingdom speed test or Google PageSpeed Insights.
Security of the website
The security of a website is evidenced, for example, by the SSL certificate. This provides an https address instead of http. The connection is secure. This prevents security warnings from Google and other search engines. Consequently, search engines rank secure websites better than insecure websites.
Good site structure
A site structure in a pyramid shape generally ensures the best findability. That pyramid is built as follows:
- https://eyeonline.nl/specialism/ – main page
- https://eyeonline.nl/specialism/search-engine-optimization/ – subpage
- https://eyeonline.nl/specialism/search-engine-optimization/technical-seo/ – sub-subpage
Our SEO campaigns show that a logical structure leads to the best findability.
No duplicate content
Unique, relevant, and interesting content contributes to better findability, and thus a higher position in Google. Duplicate content may seem like a shortcut to more content with search terms. Google and other search engines are strict about this. You may not use content twice if the goal is to improve findability.
We analyze the website for duplicate content. If there is an article that also appears on another website or on another page of the website, we use a canonical tag. This way, we indicate to the search engine which of the duplicate pages is the most important and should be considered for findability.
Optimized images
Images enrich pages, for example, to illustrate written content. These images also offer an opportunity for further technical SEO optimization. We use the image description and the ALT tag to indicate to search engines what is in the images.
Furthermore, we monitor whether images on the website are still loading and available. As soon as problems or dead links occur, we notice them, report them, and can resolve them immediately.
Structured data
With structured data, we provide search engines like Google with more information about pages. We include elements such as:
- Price of a product
- Date of an event
- Frequently asked questions
Google can display that information immediately in the search results. Moreover, it contributes to the value of the page, helping you rank higher in Google.

Redirects where necessary
Are you removing a page from the website or moving it within the structure? We provide the necessary redirects. This way, we automatically redirect visitors and inform Google about what has changed. This prevents the loss of SEO value built up with pages that are no longer available (in the same location).
